Did you know? For many decades, Arlington was considered a “dry” town?
According to Andy Metzger at Wicked Local, the status of Arlington and alcohol flip flopped a little for a century or more, from “Druken Menotomy”, through Prohibition, to retail sales, a summer beer garden, and still evolving.
For many, the switch flipped from “dry” to “not dry” with the opening of retail sales of alcohol in 2006.
Now we have a few local spots to shop for beer, wine, and spirits. And in the days of Covid-19, we even have delivery both from Giles and local restaurants, breweries, and distilleries.
