There are great things to do in Arlington everyday. But when people think about the *big events*, there are some events that people expect to happen every year, to bring the town out to be together.
May 30-31 & June 1-2, 2019 Greek Festival
Held on the first weekend of June, Saint Athanasius Festival is one of Arlington’s largest cultural events which draws thousands of people from all over the country. This year’s event will welcome over 15,000 visitors of all ages from the New England area and around the country. We will have games, rides, and fun activities for the kids and great food and drink for all.
June 8th, 2019 – Porchfest
Arlington Porchfest is a grassroots community music festival. Musicians play on front porches, and attendees enjoy lots of free music and local color as they walk and bike around the neighborhoods. It’s a great opportunity for local musicians to share their talents with their neighbors, and for residents to discover their neighborhoods anew!
June 8th, 2019 – Chairful Where you Sit
Chairful Where You Sit is a temporary outdoor art installation featuring reimagined chairs that have been rescued from the trash. This year’s event will take place during Porchfest on Saturday, June 8 at Uncle Sam Plaza in Arlington Center. Chairs may be purchased by the public to help support Arlington Public Art’s programs and events.

July 4th, 2019 – Independence Day at Robbins Park
Arlington will again celebrate America’s birthday in style at Robbins Farm Park. There will be music, musical entertainment provided by the The Reminisants, and of course, the Boston Pops Orchestra and Fireworks on the giant screen.
August 3rd, 2019 – Fido Fest
Fido Fest is Greater Boston’s only video festival that celebrates lovable dogs and their loyal humans. All are welcome to submit homemade videos of your hard working, funny, and quirky dogs. On Saturday, August 3rd, join your friends and family to watch your blockbuster videos outside on the big screen while munching on popcorn and enjoying a night under the stars.
September 13-14th, 2019 – Town Day & Night
Welcome to Arlington Town Day, an annual tradition since 1976.
Friday evening’s activities take place on Spy Pond Field and include entertainment, children’s activities, plenty of food, and finish with a fireworks show, starting around 7:30pm or dusk.
Enjoy live music, more than 200 booths for arts and crafts, non-profit and local business displays, as well as an enormous assortment of enticing food.
Town Day takes place on Massachusetts Ave. from Pleasant Street to Mill Street. There are booths offering craft exhibits, bake sales, educational displays, raffles, club membership information, games, food vendors, and/or other such “fair type” activities.
October 22nd, 2019 – Taste of Arlington – Town Hall
Arlington has so many wonderful restaurants that it can be to difficult to decide where to go for a night on the town. At the Taste of Arlington, you can enjoy delicious tastings from our most popular restaurants and food establishments.
General Admission tickets allow tastings from all participating restaurants. There will be a cash bar with beer, wine, and soda.
Coming for Halloween – Arlington Town Trick or Treat – Arlington Chamber of Commerce
Each Halloween, the Chamber organizes and promotes Trick or Treat Arlington. More than 60 businesses throughout Arlington participate.
November 7-10th, 2019 – Arlington International Film Festival
The Arlington Film Festival offers a unique opportunity for cross-cultural education by promoting understanding of the many cultures represented in our town and beyond. We are registered in Arlington, Massachusetts as an organization dedicated to developing, promoting, and increasing multicultural awareness and understanding in our town. The festival is a means for recognizing that such diversity enriches our community.

April 20th, 2020 – Patriot’s Day Parade/”Fun Run”/Menotomy Battle Reenactment
Patriots’ Day is a special Massachusetts State holiday commemorating the opening battle of the American Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775. The village of Menotomy (now Arlington) was located on Concord Road (now Massachusetts Avenue) between Boston and Lexington. Following the skirmishes that took place in Lexington and Concord, eleven men were killed and two Redcoats were killed in battle in Menotomy, making it the bloodiest fighting on the first day of the American Revolution, April 19,1775.
Arlington’s annual parade pays tribute to the brave citizens of Massachusetts that helped forge our nation’s mantle of liberty. The parade is a tribute to our Armed Forces and represents the history and origins of our U.S. military.
