I went to float this week and it was so lovely! Float is my new substitute for massage. I can relax and stretch out the kinks as I feel them, instead of getting a somewhat systematic massage from a person. I am sure that I will find the place for both of them in my life, but for now, I am loving being able to zero in on the tiniest little stresses….or bigger ones…and feel them melt away.

Float Therapy
HOW IT WORKS
Float therapy simulates zero gravity by dissolving Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) into water in a small shallow tank (water depth of 10 inches)….
Floatation therapy is based on a scientific approach to deep relaxation called Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique or R.E.S.T. for short. The idea was developed in 1954 at NIMH (National Institute of Mental Health) in Washington….
BENEFITS
Clinical research has shown that profound relaxation in a float chamber triggers the production of endorphins. Endorphins interact with the opiate receptors in your brain to reduce the perception of pain and ignite wellbeing.
